The Dunes DUAL project is made up of four partner entities from both sides of the border between Spain and France:

University of Girona
At the University of Girona, research for the DUAL project is carried out by members of the Research Group of the Landscape Analysis and Management Laboratory (LAGP) and the Socio-Environmental Change Research Group (SAMBI). The LAGP is an expert in geomorphology, biogeography and coastal management. SAMBI works on aspects of coastal planning and resource management in tourist areas. Researchers from GRECO and BIOLAND are also included as specialists in the management of invasive species.
As the lead entity of the project, UdG takes on action 1 on management and also action 2 on communication. In addition, the team leads action 4 relating to the design and implementation of restoration measures and participates in actions 3 and 5.

Université de Perpignan Via Domitia
At the Université de Perpignan Via Domitia, research for the DUAL project is carried out by members of the group Acteurs, Ressources Territoires dans le Développement (ART-Dev) and the Centre de Formation et de Recherche sur les Environnements Méditerranéens (CEFREM). ART-Dev specialises in planning and analysing the adaptation of territories (especially coastal ones) to climate change. CEFREM has extensive experience in the study of coastal morphodynamics and the processes that control changes in the coastal strip.
ART-Dev will draw up a comparative inventory of public policies on coastal management and development on both sides of the border. CEFREM will mainly participate in task 4 to contribute its expertise on the morphological evolution of the work areas.

Agence d’Urbanisme Catalane Pyrénées Méditerranée (AURCA)
AURCA develops territorial observation and manages the Catalan sandy coast observatory (ObsCAT), a knowledge platform that helps in decision-making to allow local authorities to adapt to climate change.
AURCA will organise an exchange between elected representatives and technicians from each country to share experiences in adapting coastal areas to the effects of climate change, including a citizen participation dimension, within the framework of action 5.

Calafell Town Council
Calafell Town Council, on the Tarragona coast, has been a pioneer in the renaturalisation of beaches through the formation of dunes and revegetation.
The entity will be responsible for the regenerative intervention of dunes and beaches related to action 4.
